Charles Bachman, Jr.
Charles (Chuck) Bachman, Jr., 83, of Winchester, VA died on Sunday, September 6, 2015 at his home. Mr Bachman was born April 6, 1932, in Lancaster, PA, son of the late Ethel Zittle Bachman and Charles Bachman.
Charles graduated from West Lampeter High School in Lancaster County PA in 1950. He was a salesman for Raub Supply Company of York, PA and Fertig Cabinet Company of Moorefield, WV.
Mr. Bachman was a Korean War Veteran having served in The First Armored Division, Fort Hood, Texas from January 1953 until his discharge as a Staff Sergeant in January, 1955. He is a life member of The Shenandoah Valley Chapter 313 of The Korean War Veterans Association and past commander. Charles is also a member of American Legion Post 21, Winchester, VA.
He married Jacqueline Supulski Bachman on August 22, 1953 in Strasburg, PA. Surviving with his wife are two sons, Charles David Bachman (Rae) of Winchester, VA and Michael Joseph Bachman (Margaret), of Stephens City, VA; daughter, Katherine Louise Tobin of Woonsocket, RI and four grandchildren, Elizabeth Tobin Rodriquez (Gaberil) of Charlottesville, VA, Emily Lorine Tobin of Oakland, MD, Christian Michael Bachman of Stephens City and Mairi Emmeline Bachman of Stephens City, VA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Korean War Veterans Memorial, Shenandoah Valley Chapter 313, Korean War Veterans Association, P.O. Box 3244, Winchester, VA, 22604, or to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W Cork St, Winchester, VA 22601.
A memorial service will be held at Friday at 11:00 am at the Jones Funeral Home, 228 S Pleasant Road, Winchester, VA with Rev. Raleigh Watson, Pastor Gary Fletcher and Rev. Jack Kemp officiating.
Burial will be in the Longeneckers Reformed Cemetery, Lancaster, PA.
