Robert B. ‘Bob’ Patterson, age 92, of Warrenton, VA passed on Wednesday, June 1st, 2022 at White Springs Nursing Home in Warrenton, VA. He was born on March 8th, 1930 in Greenfield, Iowa, son of the late Paul W. and Lillian V. Patterson.
Bob served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict and was stationed at K-2 Air Base, 310th Fighter Bomber Squadron, Taegu, South Korea. He became a lifetime member of Chapter 313, Korean War Veterans Association in Winchester, VA.
He met his wife, Eleanor Hill, while stationed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. They were married on January 9, 1954.
Bob started work on the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1960, retiring as a communications engineer working for Amtrak in 1987. He answered an altar call at the Billy Graham Crusade in Baltimore, MD in 1981, and has been active in his church. His hobbies included reading, wood carving and playing his guitar.
Bob is survived by his wife of 68 years, Eleanor D. Patterson; daughter, Dianne Kwiatkowski & her husband, Allen of Warrenton, VA; daughter-in-law Sherron (Sherri) Patterson of Eldersburg, MD; five grandchildren, Kellie, Emily (Daniel), Nathan (Quynh), Daniel (Julia) and Hillary; and three great grandchildren, Calvin, Vincent & Elwin. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Patterson and two sons, Douglas & David Patterson.
