COMMANDER'S COMMENTS
As I am writing this article for our April newsletter, we still do not have a definitive plan regarding our April membership meeting, however, barring some unforeseen circumstances, WE WILL MEET IN APRIL.
The Governor of Virginia promised us earlier in the year that he would revisit the meeting restrictions question again on April 1st. Hopefully, he will relax the restrictions to a level where we will be able to return to normal and hold our meeting inside the American Legion building. If we are unable to meet inside at the American Legion, we are exploring the idea of holding our April meeting outside in their shelter – weather permitting, of course. The ladies at the Legion are doing everything they can to work with us in order for us to get together again, but they are experiencing the same frustrations we are.
Anyway, we are reminding everyone to please mark the date of April 13th
on your calendar and make plans to join your fellow members at our first Chapter meeting of 2021. As usual, we plan to eat at 1:00pm with the meeting starting at 2:00pm, and the ladies will feed us. It will be great to be able to get together again!
To thank you for your patience and understanding while we were not meeting, and to welcome you back, the Board of Directors approved a suggestion for the Chapter to purchase our lunches for the April meeting, so leave your lunch money at home. We look forward to seeing all of you on April 13th.
Recently, I was reviewing some old photos taken in the earlier years of the Chapter and the one thing that stood out the most was the fact that nearly everyone was wearing their Chapter uniforms to our meetings. Over recent years, some of us have abandoned that custom and have tended to relax our dress habits
