COMMANDER'S COMMENTS
Commander Ray Ewing
When preparing these comments in mid -February I mentioned in felt like spring, now in mid- March it feels like winter again. Historians recorded after WW 2 how the
world seemed upside down, they need to take a look at today.
Because of the necessity of cancelling the March meeting and because some very important events are rapidly approaching I use this column at this time to place some emphasis on good attendance and the on benefits you may derive from them.
First is the upcoming April meeting. We have invited members from Hagerstown, Md. Chapter 142 and Frederick, Md. Chapter 312 as guests. It appears that approximately fifteen members from these chapters plan to attend. “Peachie” DeHaven and Herb Taylor have arranged with the ladies at the Legion to provide an expanded lunch, the cost to members will be the same.
Also, Josh, Morimoto has arranged for James Fisher, KWVA’s Executive Director, to speak. Obviously, this is a wonderful opportunity to meet and socialize with new friends and fellow vets and to be informed on KWVA National events. Don’t miss it. Then at the May 9 monthly meeting, Josh has arranged for Col William Weber, head of the Korean War Veterans Foundation to speak on the Wall of Remembrance project. Again, this will be an opportunity learn about this magnificent project and the fundraising efforts underway to secure funds for the project. Another one that you should not miss. (Continued Page 5).
