Red Cross 100 Years’ Service Exhibit

           April 1st – October 31st

At this location on 1340 S. Pleasant Valley Road there are three buildings. The first you come to is the VISITORS CENTER. Pass it and park to enter the second house.

The second house is the HOLLINGSWORTH MILL MUSEUM -- which is always FREE and where the opening ceremony and exhibit for the Red Cross exhibit will take place at 10 am on Saturday, April 1st.  The museum is also where tickets are sold in its Gift Shop for those who want to go on and visit the third house (which is Abrams Delight). Admission: (Adults $ 5, Seniors $ 4.50, Students K-12 $ 2.50, Family: $ 12.)

I've looked in on the Red Cross exhibit during weeks of assembling it and it is a truly impressive showing of 100 years of local Red Cross history, full of uniforms, insignia, documents, pictures, stories, etc., which I am sure will be of great interest to our members and families.  We look forward to a great turn-out.

From The Chapter Secretary

The month of March fell upon us with a lot of blustery chilly winds and the “Blizzard” of 2017, which forced cancellation of our monthly meeting. However, this weather did not prevent nine of our members from braving  the elements and attending

the Wreath Laying ceremony at the National Korea War Memorial on March 4th. That was a nice repr-esentation from our Chapter. Kudos to these mem-bers. See pages 4&5 for “The Rest of The Story”.

Meeting Reminder: At our next meeting, the guest speaker will be our KWVA Executive Director Jim Fisher. Come out and show Jim our Shenandoah Valley Hospitality.

HAVE YOU CALLED ANY OF YOUR CHAPTER FRIENDS LATELY? IF YOU   HAVE TIME TO SPARE, CALL A BUDDY AND SAY “HELLO”.
