COMMANDER'S COMMENTS

For those members who regularly attend our meetings, which represents at least 50% of the membership, you are aware that we announce several scheduld activities each month. To highlight this point this past Memorial Day, our Chapter participated simultaneously in three different functions. One was the Newtown Heritage Festival parade. The second was the annual Memorial Day service at the Omps Funeral Home-South and the third was the Memorial Day parade in Washington, DC where 12 members of our Chapter were in attendance.

This clearly represents our memberships pride for having served our nation when called upon to do so. Each of you who continually step forward to be involved in our activities should be very proud of what you do and believe in. I thank each one of you and am proud to be

one of you. Keep up the good work.

Please mark your calendar for upcoming events.

(1) Annual Chapter Memorial service and picnic in Jim Barnett Park on July 24th beginning at 1:00pm.

(2) Chapter Family dinner at the Long Horn Steakhouse on August 11th beginning at 6:00pm. More information will be available at our July meeting.

Also, please remember to bring your paperback books and magazines to our meetings so we can forward them to the VA hospital and lets all work to acquire new members to join our Chapter. With just a few more we can reach our goal of 100 members.

    Have a healthy summer.

Comm. Don Netschke
