Anthony Bencivenga

Anthony "Tony" Joseph Bencivenga, 88 of Middleburg, Virginia, passed away on July 26, 2017.
Born June 16, 1929 in Hoboken, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Pasquale and Stella Bencivenga.
Tony was a United States Army Veteran. He served during the Korean War and was a member of the Korean War Veteran Association.
Tony had a passion for horses which began when he was a young horseman for the racetrack. He was a mentor for the youth that he came in contact with and inspired them to do right and succeed.
He was a Frank Sinatra fan and enjoyed cooking, he even owned his own restaurant.
Tony will be sadly missed by his loving wife whom he was with him for 27 years, Marquerite Bencivenga; son, Anthony Bencivenga II and his mother, Zellapheane Siviero; daughters: Tamara Thomas, Shirley Iannizzi and husband, Joseph Iannizzi; grandchildren: Danielle Iannizzi, Erika Iannizzi, Zachary Thomas, and Emily Iannizzi; brother, Patty Bencivenga; sister, Lucille Burke; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Michael Bencivenga; and sister, Marie Zenzer.
Family and friends will be received at Rosedale Funeral Home on Thursday, August 3, 2017 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. Interment will be in Culpepper National Cemetery on Friday, August 4, 2017 at 1pm.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .
