From the Chapter Secretary
On Friday March 16th, Shirley and I had the opportunity to visit John Moreland at Consulate Health Care in Woodstock, VA
John is an old family friend and we had a nice visit, reminiscing of times past. John joined our Chapter several years ago, but after attending several meetings, started to have multiple problems, so did not get to meet too many of our members. His phone # is listed on page 2.
Yes, That is J. Jones in the background. It was nice seeing J. back in the fold.
-------------------------------------------------- Something to make you Chuckle.
I was trying to get my mother to fly out for a visit. “No way am I going on an airplane” was the inevitable answer. “Look mom, when it is your time to go, it will not matter if you are on the ground or in the air”. “I know”, said my mother. “I just don’t want to be that far up when it’s the pilot’s time to go”.
National Director Report
Members who have or know of descendants who are High School seniors or in college should have them check out the scholarships administered annually by KWVA. Each grant is for $2,000. Details and
application forms are found in the Graybeards Magazine. The deadline for applying is rapidly approaching.
I have been appointed to a new, temporary KWVA special committee titled "Mission and Supporting Services Review Committee" which is examining our National Mission and the activities involved in meeting each of the six elements. The notice of this committee is on our National webpage.
Ideas for improvement in any of our organizational practices, or any new, creative ideas, are welcome and should be sent to the Committee's recorder, whose contact information is on the notice. Here's your chance to let us know what you think!
