From the Chapter Secretary

Please check page 2 for activities and dues due this month. You don’t want to be removed from Nationals’ mailing list. Several items of importance are coming up in September. 

Thanks are offered to those people who have provided me with articles and photos of activities for this newsletter. I do put in a lot of time on this and the website.

However, I cannot chase stories individually. I would appreciate e-mails and or phone calls with any tidbits that you would think are interesting reading.

Please do not forget the last fund raiser of the year coming up on Sept 7th and 8th. If you have signed up, please show up.

KWVA Chapter 313 member Thomas “Tom” Lewis Reardon, Jr., 85, of Winchester, Virginia passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at Winchester Medical Center.

 

Mr. Reardon was born in 08/26/1932 in Winchester, Virginia, the son of the late Thomas and Louise Reardon. He was a graduate of James Wood High School, Class of 1951 and a veteran of the United States Army.

 

Mr. Reardon retired from Anderson Roofing and Sheet Metal after 32 years of service. After retiring he worked at Apple-land Sports Center. He was a past member of the Kiwanis, enjoyed Nationals baseball and the Washington Redskins, golfing, and was inducted into the James Wood Athletic Hall of Fame. Mr. Reardon was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and attended Macedonia United Methodist Church.

He married Barbara Hannum on June 12, 1952 in Winchester, Virginia.

A gathering of family and friends was held from 1 pm to 2 pm on August 17th, at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel and a funeral service following at 2 pm with Pastor Mike Mayton officiating. Interment was in Shenandoah Memorial Park, Winchester, Virginia.

 Pallbearers were as follows: Lew Ewing,   Charles "Dickie" Ewing,  Ray Ewing, and Marshall "Peachie" DeHaven,

 

Other members attending: David Clark, Lawrence Clowser and Dwain  Place.
