From the Chapter Secretary

Please check page 2 for activities and dues due this month. Several items of importance are coming up in December. Shirley and I would like to take this time to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas.

 

Reminder---Member Notice of Annual Election.

 

(30 days prior to the annual elections, the secretary shall submit to each officer and member of the Chapter, a notice of the annual meeting and an agenda for the Chapter meeting). This meeting will be held Thursday Dec. 13th at the Clarion Inn Lee-Jackson restaurant in Winchester, VA. A Buffet Luncheon will be served at 1:00 pm @ a cost of $13.00 per member and spouses or significant others, and an abbreviated meeting will be held at 2:00 pm with the nominating Committee opening the floor for officer nominations and election, followed by the installation of the new officers for 2019. Those members who do not wish to attend the luncheon, may at their option, attend the meeting at 2:00 pm in order to vote.

 

We hope to see as many of you as possible at this annual gathering.

November 13th Meeting Highlights

Commander Ray Ewing introduced  our guest speaker, Ms. Traci Toth, the Executive Director of a local non-profit organization, “Faith in Action” (FIA). FIA operates as the region’s only free, door-to-door non-emergency medical transportation to area residents I need of access to vital, and life sustaining health care for residents of Winchester, Frederick County, Warren County, Clarke County and Northern Shenandoah County.

Commander Ray Ewing thanks and presents a Chapter Challenge coin to our speaker Ms. Traci Toth after her interesting talk on “Faith in Action”. The FIA is primarily funded by local organizations and individuals, and they have provided over 8,200 transports from 2016 to date.
