The 69th Korean War Wreath Laying Ceremony Program on the start of the war was held on Tuesday, June 25th at 9:30 a. m. at the Korean War Memorial in D C. This elaborate ceremony was conducted by the Korean Embassy, with representatives from the countries that participated during the war.
Opening remarks were by the Korean Ambassador Yoon-je Choy, followed by words from President Paul Cunningham, KWVA, and John Tilleli, Chairman of the Korean War Veterans Memorial Foundation. Colorful wreaths then were presented by groups, associations and countries that participated in the conflict.
After the wreath presentation ceremony, a moment of silence was had with taps being played.
After closing remarks, the members of Chapter #313, wives and guest were taken to the ambassador’s residence for an outstanding lunch.
