Korean War Veterans Appreciation Day. The Pictures Tell The Story.
Members of our Chapter participated in a Korean Veterans Appreciation Day at the Veterans Administration Center in Martinsburg, WV on Thursday October 10th hosted by the VA Medical Center Administration. Our Chapter manned a table in the lobby where we had the opportunity to meet and greet and offer refreshments to Veterans and family members as they entered the hospital.
Dave Clark, Lew Ewing and Jack Keep had the honor of accompanying Brigadier General Pyo Se Woo, as he visited 32 Korean war veterans who were full time residents or patients in the hospital. (Above) One of the full time residents who is a Chapter 313 Charter member, Charles “Bud” Boyce receives visit and is awarded the “Ambassador for Peace” Medal. Because of his illness, “Bud” has not been able to attend our meetings for a long time. He would welcome a visit from our Chapter members.
Brigadier General Pyo & Colonel Park were at the Martinsburg VA Hospital to present “Ambassador for Peace” Medals to Veterans who had earned the Medal while serving during the Korean war including (Above) two Chapter 313 members, Bill Bernatovich and Cyril Kammeier . (Editor’s Note) 😊 Thanks to Lew Ewing and many others for the great photos and story article. There is more to tell, but due to space limitation, the rest of the story and photos will be in the next issue of the Chatter.
