CONGRATULATIONS ED ELLIS
We want to congratulate Ed Ellis on the article that appeared on the front page of the July 2nd issue of The Northern Virginia Daily commending him for the outstanding job he does in taking care of the mowing, trimming and maintenance of the area surrounding our Korean War Memorial in the Jim Barnett Park, and for his service as Captain of the VFW Honor Guard unit that provides military rites services for our deceased veterans.

Without waiting to be asked, Ed simply began mowing and caring for the area around our Memorial following our dedication ceremony on July 20, 2013 and has said that he will continue to do so as long as he is able.
We are proud to have Ed as a member of our Chapter and thank him for his caring of our Memorial and for his dedicated service as Captain of the Honor Guard.
CELEBRATION OF FREEDOM
Jack Keep, Buck Thompson, Charles Hoak, Lew Ewing, Paul Bombardier, and Narce Caliva
On Sunday July 10th, we took our annual pilgrimage to the Orlean Baptist Church to attend their "Celebration of Freedom" service to honor and thank all of our men and women, both past and present for their sacrifices and service in defense of our nation.
The program consisted of a number of patriotic hymns plus comments from some of the local ministers and Sarah Foster. Sarah teaches Discipleship and Bible at the Abundant Life Church in Stephens City.
Following the program, we were treated to some delicious homemade desserts and ice cream by the ladies of the Church.
Attending were: Paul and Shirley Bombardier, Narce Caliva, Lew and Mary Jane Ewing, Charles Hoak, Jack and Faye Keep, and Buck and Mary Ann Thompson.
We wish to thank Pastor Randy West and the members of his congregation for their warm Hospitality.
