NOTES FROM THE CHAPLAIN
Our comrade, Doug Purnell, passed away on 6 September, after several illnesses and hospitalizations over the past several months.

Many of us were able to attend his funeral service, which fell on our regular meeting day, and necessitated cancelling the usual lunch. Doug’s family was most appreciative of our being there in uniform and in such great numbers. (Around 30 or so!) Thanks to all of you who attended!
We were pleased to see Leonard Laconia at our last meeting!
Charles Hoak is continuing to recover and having therapy at home. Lea tells me that he welcomes visitors, but asks that you please call and arrange a convenient time, so as not to interfere with his therapy schedule. Phone is (540) 665-0828

Our Beautiful Korean Church is hosting its’ annual Thanksgiving service and luncheon which will occur on October 1st at a 11:00 am. This is off Tasker road on 130 Carriebrooke. Drive, Stephens
City, near I-81. We hope for a large turn-out of Chapter members & spouses to this wonderful event to show our respect for Pastor Peter and PK Chong and their great congregation for their hospitality.
