In the August issue of the “Chatter”, The very interesting Tony Bencivenga story was told in detail, and here is “The Rest of the Story”.
In the old photo, above on the left, is the very “Dapper” Tony pictured on February 18, 1970 at the Fairgrounds in New Orleans, LA. This was after the horse he trained won the race. This must have been very interesting work indeed. Thanks, Tony, for the use of this photo.
FROM THE CHAPTER SECRETARY
From time to time, opportunities arise for our Chapter to participate at special functions on short notice. Many of our members have e-mail service, but for those who do not, if any of you would like to be called and invited, I am gathering a
call list. Sometime, an event occurs, and folks will say they would have participated, but no one called them.
If you would like to be placed on this call list, please advise me at 540-868-1215 or let me know at the Chapter meeting. I had made up a short list for the Oct 18th Wreath Laying at the DC Korea War Memorial, but only one person showed interest from that list, and 2 out of 54 e-mails sent out.
