WREATH LAYING CEREMONY

On Tuesday October 18th, several of our members including Commander Don Netschke, Past Commander Narce Caliva, Sec'y Paul Bombardier, Tony Bencivenga, and Ed Ringoot travelled to the Korean War Memorial in Washington, DC. There, at 3:30 pm, we witnessed a Wreath Laying Ceremony performed by the Korean Minister of National Defense Mr. Han Min Goo, who was visiting the U.S. from Korea.

Our trip started at noon by way of car-pool from Walmart on 522 south to the Han Gang restaurant in Annandale. From there, at 2:00 pm, a bus provided by the Embassy transported us to the Korean War Memorial to

witness this colorful event. After the ceremony, we were transported back to the Han Gang restaurant where we were guests of the Korean Embassy who hosted a late lunch with dignitaries from the Embassy.

Our friends from the Korean Embassy,

really show their appreciation for the service performed by the United Nations troops during their time of need, June 1950 until July 1953, and which continues to this day.

Our guide for this event was the very kind and gracious Ms. Michelle-Misook Won, A Korea and Vietnam Veteran, who is President of the Korean Women Veterans Assn. of Washington.
