Organ Music Performance

On Wednesday, December 7, 2016, Mrs. Beverly Clark, (wife of our new 2nd Vice Commander, David Clark) presented a program “Organ Music of Remembrance” at the Front Royal Presbyterian Church.

The program was presented in observance of the attacks on our country on Sunday, December 7th, 1941, at Pearl Harbor, and on Tuesday, September 11th, 2001, at the World Trade Center, Pen- tagon, and in Shanksville, PA.

It was also presented in memory of the victims of those attacks and in honor of the lives lost in the ensuing battles.  It was especially meaningful this year, as it was the 75th Anniversary of the attack at Pearl Harbor.   The music was performed from 12:30 pm until 1:15 pm, in commemoration of the surprise attack at Pearl Harbor, which began at 1:20 pm, Eastern time.  In recognition of the solemnity of the events, the audience observed total silence during the performance.

Members of our Chapter in attendance were, Dick and Pat Boxwell, Dave and (of course) Beverly Clark, Steve Culbert, Peachie DeHaven, Lew and Mary Jane Ewing, Charles Hoak, and Josh Morimoto.

FROM THE CHAPLAIN

Rev. Raleigh Watson

As I write this column, we have just learned of the death of James Berry on December 24th, in Ruckersville. Most of you know that James was one of our Former POW members. His association with the KWVA was very important to him, and he attended meetings very

regularly until health problems interfered.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete, but service will probably be in Madison. We will advise when we know more and I hope some of us may attend. Ralph Martin has undergone a biopsy and some surgery, but is "on the mend", and hopes to be at our next meeting, and would appreciate a phone call, and of course a phone call to any of the following would be very nice if you have a moment – they always like to hear from us and are not able to attend many of our meetings:

Millard Pippin –       home – 540-667-1876

Charles Boyce –          cell – 304-263-0811

Bud Robertson –         cell – 540-877-9132
